Reflections on the Pursuit of Success
I’ve been reflecting,
You know. We’re living in a world full of expectations, from society, from ourselves.
We are living in a world where we constantly trying to impress and reach new highs.
We are living in a world where lows or failures don’t get accepted.
We are living in a world full of anxiety and fear.
And where doubts make us insecure.
We are living in a world where showing emotions will be labeled as weak.
Where we define our own happiness based on the comparison with others.
We are living in a world where distractions take our time away to focus.
To focus on what really matters.
So we all, constantly aim for success. So it can take all the ‘discomfort’ we are facing in life away.
Success translated as achievements/material goals/ecognition from others.
And when it hits, we directly move on to the next.
Quick dopamine.
But what does success or real life achievement actually means?
For you, for me, for all of us it will have a different definition.
I figured out, (still tryna figure it out tbh) that for me, success means to be able to live in flow, peace and in the presence (Without it, being affected by performance/achievement or recognition)
To love my truth, accept myself, my choices and to get to know myself better. To commit to what I love and to find purpose of serving and giving. And to only be attached to self love and understanding; That’s real (inner) peace and success.
Quite a journey. And I’m nowhere near -> yet, but definitely 1 worth taking. 🤞🏼✨
