How to be Social Media GOAT for Footballers

Hello guys, I just want to share about social media in my head to you. I hope you are all well and healthy, and hopefully, this can be useful for all of you.

I just read a book from @433 about how to be a GOAT on social media, and I want to share what I've learned and experienced. Previously, I have written about why footballers should be aware of personal branding. For those of you who haven't read, you can click this link: Why footballers have to be concern with personal branding?

In that article, I talked about how important it is for a footballer to build personal branding. Because personal branding is an investment for football players. As football players, the career we are in will not last forever. It'll come to the end when the time has come and we will live a different life and routine.

In addition, personal branding can also make us better known as real people by the public. It doesn't always have to appear in the mainstream media, but we can also form personal branding through social media or other channels.

During the pandemic, I have a lot of free time and I try to explore one of the areas that I like and can apply in my life. It's like a blessing in disguise.

Be consistent

In this article, I will share what I have done, and the results I have achieved after I implemented the system of building personal branding in the last few months.

I read some books on personal branding, social media, and digital to gain knowledge. And then I try to start what I know.

I started by bringing out the identity I wanted to present. As a football player, I want to be known as a person who can inspire, both on and off the pitch. From there, I moved on to more technical things and structured myself to be consistent. It's frustrating in the beginning but just enjoy the process.

So, I make a monthly content plan and try to post regularly. For this time, because there's not as much activity, as usual, I capture some moments and record the videos to see what I can post for a month.

I try to be always active on social media and one of the keys is to be consistent so I can always interact with the supporters. We're all missing football, I miss you all too guys!

I got used to this routine after a few months, making plans and also executing everything from start to finish.?

I make categorization in uploading content. So all the activities I upload are not only about one theme about football but can be about family, gym sessions, hobbies, or business matters because I am an entrepreneur. This grouping makes it easier for me to be consistent on social media.

Also, feel free to discuss with those who are experts, as well as my agents to get different views and input so that we know what works and what doesn't work. This can definitely keep us growing.

A few days ago, I was surprised by the result of my social media. Honestly, before that, I had little hope of what I was doing. I just want to do what I have learned and continue to interact with supporters.

From analytic tools, I got pretty much growth for my Instagram followers. I don't mean to be cocky, but my Instagram followers gain better than some other national footballers.

A big followers growth does not mean that I am successful and satisfied in managing my Instagram, but at least I know and have felt the impact that will occur after I manage it more regularly and planned than before.

This is in line with my desire to continue to be able to inspire all football lovers in Indonesia. I spread positivity in my own way and hope people get inspired to chase their dream.

So, that's all my story for today and don't hesitate if you want to ask something with me. Just keep healthy and chase your dream with your loved one.
